History of SS Peter and Paul, Lavenham
The church at Lavenham is one of Suffolk’s great wool churches, built almost entirely in the 15th century, on money made from the wool trade, it was built of lavish size, with a tower of 141 feet, which is the tallest village church in England.
The church is highly decorated, with much carving, and ornate side chapels, the misericords were probably created as an aid to a mass for the dead at around the time of the church’s creation.
St Peter and St Paul’s does not appear to have a website, but some information and photos are available on the Suffolk Churches website.
