History of St Peter’s church, Bolton-le-Moors
This fine example of “High Victorian Gothic” which was dedicated in 1871, replaced in it’s entirety, with the exception of a few fitments, including the misericords, its, by now, decaying 14th century predecessor. The church boast, at 180’, the tallest tower in Lancashire.
Of the fabric of 14th century church, only a little remains, but these are displayed, along with the remains of the Norman and Saxon churches, in St Peter’s museum corner.
