Abererch

History of St Cawrdaf, Abererch, Caernarvonshire.

There has been a foundation on the site since (probably) the early 11th century.  The current church was built in the 14th century as a nave and chancel, and then extended in the 15th century by the addition of a north aisle.  Some additional work was carried out between 1520 and 1600 which included the addition of the misericords.  It is unknown if the misericords were commissioned for St Cawrdaf’s or if they were brought in from a monastic foundation after the dissolution.

As of September 2009, St Cawrdaf, Abererch does not appear to have an official website.
